My name is Cindy Stump, and I’m starting this fundraiser because people I care deeply about are living through something unimaginable. Western Jamaica has been hit hard, and the situation is worsening by the day. I can’t just watch from afar and do nothing — so I’m asking for your help.

You’ve probably seen it in the news. In much of the world, the headlines have already moved on. But for the people living through it, the nightmare is far from over. You can’t truly imagine what this kind of disaster looks like — or what it feels like to survive it. Many families still haven’t heard from their loved ones.

The storm completely destroyed the area; almost every house and tree is gone. Miguel and his family lost everything — their homes, food, clothes and all their belongings. They survived only by sheltering in a half-built house. The area is still cut off; roads are blocked by mud and debris, and there’s no water, food, clothes, electricity or internet. They depend entirely on emergency help that’s still not there.
Any contribution will make a real difference — first for survival, and then to rebuild their lives once banks and aid services reopen. Please help me and bring a little hope back to Miguel and his family after losing everything.
