Help Jackie move out of an abusive home

(Hi, I'm Ethan, the one organizing this fundraiser for my girlfriend, Jackie. Here is her story)

 

Hello, my name is Jackie Burgan, I am an 18 year old trans girl living in California.

 

For about half my life, my living situation has been very rough and unstable but it’s recently reached a breaking point, and I will no longer be able to stay there. For all that time I have had to live with an abusive grandmother who will constantly berate and verbally abuse my mother, leading to intense shouting matches, occasionally leading to my grandmother physically assaulting my mother. Up until now, I’ve been able to survive this, but in the past few weeks, my grandmother has attempted to file a restraining order against my mother, which if successful, will force her out of the house and leave me with my mentally unstable grandmother. The only other place I have to stay is with my friends, but the problem is that they live on the other side of the country. I am unable to take a plane to their house in Boston because I have no form of ID and cannot acquire one in a timely manner.

 

This is the main reason I’m setting up this GoFundMe; I am in desperate need of financial help with this. I have been living under the direct care of my mother and grandmother my whole life, so I have absolutely no money of my own to spend. I’m going to need to purchase a ticket for a Greyhound bus on the 22nd of this month to take me across the country, as well as money for the food and various other miscellaneous expenses I will need for the trip. In addition, I’ll need the money for myself as a safety net while I search for a job. If you can donate whatever you can to help me live in a place I can be safe and happy in, I would greatly appreciate it.
