Gwen Warfield Needs Our Help
Greetings, fellow travelers on this long strange trip. One of our own, one of our very best, is in dire straits. Gwen Warfield is a marvelous person, as so many of us know from years at various Renaissance and Dickens Fairs. From Pig Farkin’ to Chimney Sweepin’, she’s been a joy and an inspiration.
Unfortunately, reality has been quite rough on Gwen in recent years. An illness has left her hands with crippling pain, making it impossible for her to continue working in her current profession as a software engineer and code monkey; typing all day is very painful and also further deteriorates her hands.
To make matters worse, just as she was preparing to embark on a new career, her living situation suddenly collapsed, and now she can no longer afford to remain in her beloved San Francisco.
Gwen is now moving in with friends in Los Angeles while she tries to put things back together—she’s trying to find a way to heal and be able to work, and in general rebuilding herself from the ground up. There are moving expenses, medical expenses, and general living expenses (i.e., food, etc). She’s always been extremely independent, but now she is reluctantly learning to lean on her friends. This means you!
Please open up your wallet and give a bit of yourself to this cause. In better times, Gwen has always done what she could when someone in the community was in need. Now our friend needs help. It’s as simple as that. We have set a goal to help offset her current medical bills and moving expenses, and some to keep on keeping on with.
Please share this humble request, and do what you can to help out one of our chosen Faire family.
Thank you.
