Hello #TeamGavin, we want to thank each and every one of you for standing by our family this past year. Now that Gavin is home on hospice I want to reiterate the purpose of this fundraiser. As we try to spend as much time as possible with our son and our other children, we do need help financially. Not just to pay our bills but to fill Gavin's remaining time with happiness. If you cannot give at this time, please share our story, and of course pray. Pray for Gavin's peace, pray for his little sisters, pray for our family. This is absolutely the hardest thing any of us have experienced and something no child should ever have to go through. With your help we can bring joy. So again, thank you, we will never be able to express the gratitude we have for all of you.

Family and friends, our son Gavin was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at the end of September. Further genetic testing revealed he has Desmoplastic small round blue cell tumors (DSRCT).  This is an extremely rare cancer, with 200-450 reported cases since 1989 world wide.. originally they thought it was alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS). Gavin was enrolled in Milwee Middle School's engineering magnet, pre-IB, and gifted programs. We went from having a healthy happy kid, to preparing for possible  years of treatment and the possible side effects for many years to come. Several people have reached out to ask how they can help during this time, so we've created this fundraiser in response. Because of Covid protocols visitors are strictly limited for inpatient treatment,  which will become more lengthy as we go forward. Todd is our sole income and he is determined to be by his son's side as frequently as possible. Your donation will help us free up time, deal with lost income, and make his time with us and his sisters as stress free as possible. We are gearing up for a minimum of two years of homeschooling, emergency visits, intensive chemo, surgery, and radiation. Gavin is fortunate to have two households that love and care for him equally, with an additional 3 siblings in each. Our resources will be pooled for medical expenses but are separate for individual household needs. We are a united front in this fight so if you see Jessica and Josh's fundraisers, please dont hesitate to share them and help them get the word out too.
