Help Fran Callanan as He Battles Glioblastoma
Donation protected
Fran Callanan was diagnosed with a brain tumor on October 27th and the tumor was removed within 48 hours. On November 5th, Fran and his family received the devastating news that he has a stage four aggressive and non-curable form of brain cancer, glioblastoma. He will undergo extensive chemotherapy and radiation.
If you know Fran, you know he is one of the good ones. He is hard working and always has a smile and a friendly word. He is generous, kind and has a knack for the perfect timing of his one-liners. He is the first to offer a hand, a dedicated coach and a wonderful friend. Above all, Fran is the most dedicated and loving husband, father and Papa.
Fran is the perfect fit to his other half, Heather, who is a Peabody Public paraprofessional in a classroom for students with special needs. He is the proud step father to Bobby and Cody. Fran is also highly devoted to his children, Logan (9th grade) and Rylee (8th grade). He is a doting Papa to Cambree, Ryan and Lily.
Fran puts all of his time, effort and energy into his family and coaching his children. He is always on a field or court somewhere in Peabody! Fran is a both a coach and board member for Peabody Babe Ruth, Peabody Tanners Little League Softball and Peabody Western Little League. He has coached both North Shore Flag Football and Peabody Basketball Association teams. He is the assistant coach for Higgins Middle School travel eighth grade girls basketball team. He even dedicated his time to being an assistant CCD teacher at St. Adelaide’s Church.
With extensive medical bills, inability for Fran to work and Heather having to take time from work, Fran’s health should be the first thing on their mind, not bills. For a man who dedicates so much time to the community, I ask you to give back to the Callanan family as they navigate this extremely difficult road ahead of them.
