Jaleigha (15y) (Little Elm Gunshot Victim)
Donation protected
Hi my name is Holly and I am helping to raise funds for Jaleigha (15y). Jaleigha and Family gets 100% of all donations) She was one of the victims in the Little Elm shooting that happened over the weekend (Sat October 21st). She was at a party with her best friend while visiting from out of town. When out of nowhere gun shots rang out. Three other people were shot with one person losing his life. Jaleigha was an innocent bystander along with the others and the bullet entered and went through some major organs including an artery and she is currently stable but still in critical condition. She was taken immediately into surgery and has had another surgery since the first one. The family is incurring a lot of medical bills as she is still in ICU fighting. The family has had to take time off of work to be by her side. Any donations whether small or large is greatly appreciated and will help to alleviate some of the expenses. The family is very appreciative and thanks everyone who has donated financially and for the prayers being sent for her. No amount is to small and if you would like to donate but are not able to then Prayers are greatly appreciated!
**UPDATE**
11/08/23 Jaleigha was moved from ICU to a Regular room. She was happy to finally be able to eat and drink whatever she wanted. She is making great progress.
12/04/23 Jaleigha is now going through rehab. She is pushing hard through it everyday she is so ready to be back home with her family. Once she is finished with rehab she will get to go home. So hopefully depending on how she does with rehab she will be able to go home by the end of the year. Thank you all for your continued prayers and donations the family is very appreciative!
12/31/23 Jaleigha has a colostomy causing some aspects in life to be different. She does not allow that to keep her spirits down and she is very grateful to still be here. She was able to finally come home today to be with family. She still has a long road ahead but it is looking brighter.
09/01/24 It has been 9 months since the last update. Jaleigha is resilient and has overcome so much. She was able to get the colostomy reversed and is back to normal as best as she can be in this situation. She is still going thru therapy and has doctor follow ups. Medical bills are continuing to pile up but she is still here with us and that is what is important. The family greatly appreciates all of the donations and prayers. Thank you for following her recovery and Bless each of u.
