Erick's Recovery (Hemorrhagic Stroke)
Donation protected

On Saturday, July 12th, 2019, Erick Ballard, my nephew and master plumber for ActionFast Plumbing, went to help a family friend install a toilet. On the way back to his van to pick up a couple tools he needed to finish the job, he went down suddenly and began to convulse. Luckily, the family friend was a nurse, recognized what was happening and immediately called 911. Erick was transported to Troy Hospital and then taken by helicopter to Robert Packer Hospital.
Though improving every day, Erick remains in a coma in the ICU at Robert Packer Hospital. We have been told that Erick probably had a cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) leading to a hermorrhagic stroke on the right side of his brain.
Once Erick is considered medically stable, he will be transferred to Geisinger Hospital in Danville, PA to begin rehabilitation.
This GoFundMe has been set up to help his wife, Tonya Chapman Ballard, and three children (Isaiah - 14, Haden - 10, and Savannah - 6) with the cost of transportation, meals, and lodging for what we anticipate will be an extended stay for Erick. Any money left over will be put towards making their home handicap accessible, including converting their current wood-burning furnace to propane gas and building a downstairs bathroom and bedroom for Erick
