Help Elise Win the Battle

Donation protected
On January 26, 2017, my sister Elise received the unimaginable news that she had been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. After weeks of doctors appointments, mammographies, MRI’s, genetic testing and biopsies, Elise will be undergoing a five hour surgery on March 16, to remove the mass, and reconstruct the remaining breast tissue. The surgery will also include a biopsy of the lymph nodes to determine the stage of the cancer. Elise’s ongoing course of medical treatment will include radiation therapy, hormone therapy, and possibly chemo and other medications based on the results of the surgery.

Elise has always been a person who puts everyone before herself. For over 20 years, she has volunteered an enormous amount of her time mentoring and supporting young women through the Miss America Organization. Elise is too humble to ask for help, so I am doing it for her. I am asking that we give back some of the support she has shown to so many, and help her win this fight. I am sure you all agree that Elise deserves and needs our love and support now more than ever.

This is where YOU and this fund come in. Having cancer is not only emotionally draining, but the financial challenges can be a huge burden as well. Many of us don’t even consider the costs that can arise during treatment. The medical bills continue to add up week after week, and I am reaching out to our amazing and supportive network of family and friends to help in any way possible. Any donation is greatly appreciated and no amount is too small.

What will your donations be used for? Why $9,800?
-
$9000 goes to the DEDUCTIBLES. Right off the bat. Not a DIME is payed until those deductibles are met.
        --In Network deductible = $3000
        --Out of Network deductible = $6000, with a 20%
co-insurance once that deductible is met.
- All of the reconstructive breast surgery is OUT OF NETWORK (20% co-insurance), so the $9000 deductible still doesn’t cover the entire cost.
- Radiation therapy has a co-pay of $20 dollars per session. 5 times a week. For 6-8 weeks.
- Additional co-pays
- Oncology visits
- Medications / Supplies

As you can see, every cent raised will be covering her medical expenses. Cancer is stressful enough without having to worry about the financial debt left behind.

Let’s Help Elise Win the Battle against breast cancer!
