My name is Victor, and I’m raising funds for my 9-year-old son, Elijah.
Elijah has cerebral palsy and autism.
When he was younger, we were told he would never walk.
But by the grace of God, the help of our community, and a life-changing spinal surgery called SDR, Elijah has already done things that were once supposed to be impossible.
Years ago, we took a leap of faith to get Elijah to St. Louis for Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy, a surgery that helped reduce the tightness in his legs and gave him a chance to move in ways we had only prayed for.
After that came years of therapy, caregiving, travel, appointments, braces, home exercises, and daily work.
And Elijah fought.
He learned. He grew. He walked. He made progress that changed his life.
But cerebral palsy does not stop because one surgery helped.
As Elijah grows, his body keeps changing.
Right now, he is entering another critical medical season.
His arches are collapsing and becoming painful.
The screws in his hips need to be replaced so his growth can continue to be guided properly.
His braces and therapy needs have changed.
And he needs to continue the full-time caregiving and therapy program that helped bring him this far.
This fundraiser is not just about “helping us out.”
This is about protecting Elijah’s progress.
We are trying to make sure he keeps moving forward instead of backward.
The funds raised will go toward Elijah’s current and upcoming medical needs, including:
Orthopedic appointments and follow-ups
Replacing the guided-growth screws in his hips
Addressing his collapsing arches and foot pain
New braces, orthotics, and mobility supports
Intensive therapy and continued home programming
Travel, lodging, and medical-related expenses
The full-time care and support needed to keep Elijah progressing
For years, our family and community have fought to give Elijah every possible chance. He has already overcome so much. But we are at another important junction, and I cannot do this alone.
I created this GoFundMe because I believe Elijah’s future is worth fighting for.
If it is on your heart to help, please consider donating. If you cannot donate, please pray for Elijah and share this fundraiser with others. Every donation, every prayer, and every share helps us keep fighting for him.
Thank you for helping Elijah keep moving forward.
God bless you.
