Our dear friend of over 25 years, Dawn Conley, received the devastating news, at the young age of 41, that she has CANCER. Dawn went to her first ever routine mammogram, with zero symptoms, and by August 14th of this year she was told she has Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. So far she has had surgery to remove the lump in her breast and some lymph nodes. Medical professionals even told her, right after surgery, that there was no additional signs of cancer and that they got it all out. We were all SO relieved. However just days later she was told they were WRONG and that pathology shows additional clusters of the damn cancer cells!

Dawn is a wonderful wife to Dave and a loving mother to her four children. The youngest, Declan, is only 5 years old. Dawn is also a pillar in her community with her consistent focus on helping others as a talented social worker. IT’S IS OUR TIME TO HELP HER. Dawn’s diagnosis is devasting emotionally and financially for her family. The household fiscally relies on Dawn working full time, but with the number of medical appointments that have been needed her full time work has been impossible and she does not have the benefit of paid time off. Costly out-of-pocket appointments and medical expenses have exhausted family finances. Dawn has been unable to consistently work full time, and she will not be able to work during various stages of treatment. All of us that know Dawn know that she is the strongest fighter EVER and will not let this beat her!

Dawn is set to start the scary next step; chemotherapy. She begins treatment on September 19th. We’re raising funds to help cover out-of-pocket healthcare costs (including side effect management) and basic life necessities. Our goal is to make sure that Dawn and Dave can endure this difficult time without financial strain. We want Dawn to focus on healing!
