Saying Good Bye to Brenda (MOM)
Donation protected
Update: I first and foremost want to thank everyone that has donated so far. It helped get David to see his mother before she passed and went to be with the angels.
We are now faced with something we didn't think would happen. Brenda's life insurance policy is being questioned and they are not going to pay out and if they do, it will be months down the road, if at all.
This is a big blow to the family. We do not have the funds to pay for her funeral.
This something that most of us dont' think about, not having the funds when a love one passes.
I have up'ed the goal of this fund to cover the expenses that David and Kristel have had to accure during their time of grieving. I again humbly ask that every dollar counts. Please help me take the pressure of them. Donate in memory of this beautiful woman that everyone will miss.
It is always difficult to find out that a loved one has Cancer and it is ever worse when you find out that they have taken a turn for the worst from complications.
What is even worse then that.... Living 1000's of miles away and not being able to see them one last time.
This is happening to my husband right now. His mother has small cell lung cancer and has been fighting the good fight until just this past weekend. She lives in Virgina and we live in Oklahoma.
This what David's sister posted just yesterday. "My dear dear friends, Thank You all for the prayers, but I ask for harder, on your knees prayers for a few days at least-Dr just came in. Surgery went ok. But apparently there was a lot of infection in there. They did take part of the colon. With her blood counts being so low, her body didn't "produce" the pain signals for her to realize. He said she's really sick though. If she pulls through this she has a long rough road. Weeks in the hospital. The next 24-72 hrs are critical. He said statistically it's very bad. 70% of patients hospitalized for this don't make it. But we shouldn't give up hope. PLEASE PRAY HARD!!"
We want to get David to be able to visit his mother but money is really tight. I know that between David and I we have well over 4,000 friends on FaceBook. We are not asking anyone for a huge donation. If all of our friends would donate just $5? Give up that Starbucks to help David see his mom one last time.
The donations will be used to get him on a plane ASAP to see her and to cover the expense of a rental car while he is there. Please help him say good-bye.
Thank you and bless everyone who helps us get David to his mom.
Thank you
Shae McMaster
