Hi, my name is Kenita, and I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my lifelong friend, Cory Gage. We’ve known each other since middle school, and he’s always been the kind of person you could count on — funny, loyal, and full of life. Now, Cory really needs our help.
Cory is suffering from a severe spinal injury that has left him nearly bedridden for the past two months. He has a 7mm disc protrusion with osteophyte complex in his lumbar spine, a compressed sacroiliac joint, and crippling sciatic pain that radiates from his thigh down to his foot. This condition, which began in 2021, has progressively worsened, and by April 2025, the pain became so intense that he was forced to stop working completely.
Adding to the struggle is the lack of a clear medical path forward. There’s been conflicting input between Cory’s primary care provider and secondary specialists, with diagnoses ranging from bone spurs in the spine and neck to Parkinson’s disease. This medical uncertainty has made it extremely difficult for Cory to get proper treatment, long-term planning, or government assistance. Right now, he’s left waiting, hurting, and unsure of what the future holds.
On top of all this, Cory’s son currently lives with him, which adds both emotional and financial pressure to an already overwhelming situation. He’s doing everything he can to provide stability for his son while navigating this painful and uncertain chapter.
Cory is in a tough place — unable to work, without sufficient aid, and now at risk of losing the essentials he needs to survive.
This fundraiser is to help Cory cover:
- Rent and utility bills to keep a roof over his and his son’s heads
- Car payments so he can continue seeing doctors
- Immediate and ongoing medical bills
- Basic living costs while he seeks a full diagnosis and long-term care options
Cory is doing his best to stay hopeful and strong, but he can’t do it alone. Every donation, no matter the size, helps ease the financial weight he’s carrying and gives him more time to focus on healing and caring for his son.
If you’re unable to donate right now, please consider sharing this campaign with your network.
Thank you for your support — it truly means the world.
