Bunny’s Fight Against Cancer (Leukemia)

Hello family and friends. On February 17th, our family received the news that our mom (Bunny), had been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia — An aggressive form of blood cancer in the bone marrow, that produces an uncontrollable amount of cancerous cells into her bloodstream. After battling this intense disease for almost a year long with treatment including chemotherapy and radiation at Tufts Hospital in Boston, the cancer has unfortunately taken over Bunny’s entire body completely spreading to the most important vital organs of her body. Her brain and spine. Bunny has been since transferred back home to do hospice care as of September 26. Hospice care focuses on the care, comfort, and quality of life of a person who is approaching the end of life. Bunny is fortunate enough to spend her last days of her life back at home with her loved ones that take care of her, deeply filled with love and happiness.

We would like to share a little story about our mom. Our mom came to this country in the early 90’s with nothing, but worked hard as a single mother of 3 children, to give us everything. Those who have the pleasure of knowing Bunny, know that she is full of life, very caring and considerate, and always showing up and giving back to others and her community. She does everything out of the kindness of her heart and never expects anything in return. It breaks our hearts to watch the woman, who brought us into this world, become so fragile with each passing day..

This year, for our mom’s 49th birthday (March 20th) we will unfortunately be celebrating in the hospital, but we would like to ask all of our friends, family, and even strangers, to help bring a smile to our mother’s beautiful face.
