Hello my name is Brooke, I am 4 years old and I have Rett Syndrome.
Rett Syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder which affects mostly girls. Initially these children appear to grow and develop normally until they reach a regression period where symptoms begin to appear.
For Brooke these symptoms were the loss of purposeful hand movement and the ability to speak at approximately 13 months old. Apraxia, the bodies ability to move with co-ordination has affected Brooke's ability to crawl and therefore walk.... Everyday activities that we take for granted are a massive challenge for Brooke and her family.
We hope to raise money for Brooke to help provide for her future needs. To help purchase equipment to assist in everyday living.
Mobility equipment such as walking frames and also supportive seating for play.
As well as therapy for Brooke's growth, development and happiness.
