Hello! My name is Ashli McGlon, and I'm a sophomore at Upson-Lee High School in Thomaston, GA. During the first weekend in December 2014, I auditioned and received a contracted spot on the Spirit of Atlanta Color Guard team.
Spirit of Atlanta is a World Class Drum and Bugle Corps which travels across the United States from June-August each year performing shows and competing against other DCI groups. They have a total of 150 members consisting of students aged 16-22.
On May 22, I will move in to my home away from home with my fellow Spirit of Atlanta members. Then my journey will begin. I will spend over 12 hours a day practicing and perfecting my performances. Then every few days my team will perform on football fields across 19 different states. This experience will not only help me become a better performer, it will provide me with lifelong lessons and help me grow into a more independent individual.
I feel extremely blessed to be given this opportunity to be chosen as a part of this team. This not only will take dedication, it will also be a huge financial responsibility. This is where I need your help! The tour fees are approximately $3500 which covers the cost of transportation, housing, food, uniforms, and other dues. This is a substantial amount of money; however, it is worth every dime. I hope that you will consider being a sponsor for me and help me achieve this dream come true as a first year member of the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps.
Thank you for any support you can give!
May God Bless!
