Help Amee's Immigration Fight
Donation protected
As many of you know know we adopted Amee April 10th 2012 in Mae Hong Son, Thailand. We have since been fighting and fighting to get her adoption legalized here in the states and to finally get her citizenship. It has been a long hard few years for our family.
For those of you who do not know Amee, she is a beautiful little girl. She was born with Spina Bifida. She has a shunt for water on her brain and has severe scholiois. She is being treated at Shriner's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia for these conditions and is pending surgery on her spine this spring.
We have applied for Amee to be seen as an immediate relative so that she can receive citizenship. This has been a long process and we are stained because of this. I, Michele, am unable to work due to her medical appointments, therapies and such. We have been blessed with a beautiful home to live in, support from friends and family and are really not bad off compared to many others.
Yesterday I received a notice from immigration that Amee's visa would not be extended and she needs to leave the country immediately. Needless to say, this did not help my stress level.
A lawyer in State College, PA was suggested to me and today I have spent over an hour with him discussing our case. He has given me a far more reasonable price for his assistance - $2000 for preparation of case and the interview with immigration representation. We also need to come up with the immigration application fees for each from we are submitting. This all adds up.
We appreciate any help you can give - no amount is too small. We believe we can do this - together - and make Amee's citizenship final. This would be a true blessing and miracle for our family.
Everyone who meets Amee immediately falls in love with her - she is a lover that's for sure.
Thank you for taking time to consider this.
Blessings,
The Seeya Family
