Dear Family and Faithful Friends,
Dolly and I are in need of a new van (or low-mileage used van) that is wheelchair-adapted. Because Muscular Dystrophy (MD) has caused Dolly to grow weaker, she now needs the use a wheelchair much of the time. She requires ongoing doctor appointments for MD as well as breast cancer remission at M. D. Anderson.
We have tried to use the medical transport through our insurance, but it requires 72 hours notice and is unavailable on weekends. We've had to cancel rides several times because appointments were changed or we didn't have 72 hours notice prior to the next appointment. In emergencies, we are forced to use very expensive ambulance services.
Dolly has been the love of my life for nearly 60 years of marriage, and I have been her Caregiver for ten years. She has become very weak due to MD and must use her wheelchair. Our 2013 Toyota Venza van will no longer be adequate and her doctor recommended buying a van equipped with a wheelchair lift. She has been unable to go to MD Anderson to get a necessary check-up or other appointments or outings. My precious darling has become homebound which is taking a toll on her emotionally and mentally.
Family and some friends may know that I served in Special Forces and I am a Disabled Veteran. It is my desire to purchase a van to use for both physical health appointments and mental health outings.
We actually need $65,000 but will be blessed with whatever you can spare for me to purchase a specially equipped van.
CORRECTION: GoFundMe only takes 2.9% fee. fyi. If we receive more than we need, extra donations will be made to IBF Israel Benevolence Fund 501©(3), our charity which helps care for orphans, widows and holocaust survivors in Israel.
Dolly and I will be eternally grateful for any help you can give us during these challenging, yet blessed senior years. Praise be to Yeshua our LORD!
Ron
Sincerely,
Rabbi Ron Aaronson
