Our Story
One of our close friends is a doctor at NYU Langone Hospital in NYC. Since the coronavirus known as Covid-19 has started spreading in the US, we have constantly been checking in with him. He told us that he has seen an uptick in the number of affected patients, including his co-residents as well. The primary reason for this is the lack of PPE.
We continue to receive updates like this from our many friends throughout the healthcare industry. It mades us sick that we cannot do anything since the best way to help is to stay inside. We have been fortunate enough to not lose our jobs during this pandemic but also want to help. Donating is not enough so we banded together and started this page. From this, #Help4Hospitals came to fruition.
Our Goal
NJ and NY have been the most impacted states in the US. Overwhelmed doctors have mentioned that they have been instructed to hold onto their one N-95 mask for a whole week. Our goal is two-fold:
1. To acquire, distribute and deliver PPE to healthcare workers and also the janitorial services at hospitals (who are just as much of heroes during this time in the background)
2. To coordinate with food delivery services and have meals sent to hospitals
Initially, we are going to start with one hospital in NJ and NY each. If we see a surge in donations, we will keep acquiring the above and hopefully be able to get to more hospitals.
