This is very hard on all of us we don't understand what happened he was doing good. Kaitlyn, my mom and I we got to talk to him from 2:30 to 3 we Video Chatted with him and everything seemed good, he sounded good. He was in a good place in his Mind set, just couldn't wait to get out of there!! But he knew it was going to be a while! He told us and said there must be a reason why he survived his Cardiac Arrest the first time, he said Jesus had a reason and he was glad that he was going to be able to be here for another few years to watch his granddaughter, in all the sports that he loved!! Kaitlyn is following in her Grandpas footsteps!! He was so very PROUD OF HER he wanted to teach her how to drive, he wanted to teach her how to pole vault, he told her every day what she did or didn't do right!! EVEN WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL!! GRANDPA was her #1 supporter her biggest fan!! KAITLYN LOVED HIM SO MUCH she would follow him everywhere!! He loved his granddaughter so dearly, he was so proud of her he talked about her to everybody!! He was so excited that she was living in his shoes being a 3rd Generation Bonita Bearcats !! I told her you will be doing pole vaulting or any other sport he will be your guardian angel and he will be lifting you up that 6 ft, 7ft, 8 ft, 9 ft, 10 ft pole vault Pole!!! He'll be there every inch of the way supporting YOU!! I'm glad before he went into the hospital we got to spend the weekend prior to that my mom, dad, Kaitlyn and Myself. We drove to Arizona for Kaitlyn's competition meet. My dad was my co-pilot keeping me awake and keeping me alert as we made a round trip as I was driving home, as I used to do for him driving to the river many many times on the weekends, I would be the one that would stay up and keep him awake!! So many memories, so many good times, I love my sweet sweet Daddy!!! He was loved by so many people, anybody that met my dad they were lifelong friends, he loved everybody, never had an enemy, very passive, very calm.
He had a rough childhood but he grew up at Leroy Boys Home and worked his way from a boy in the home to Executive Director at Le Roys. He loved every boy that was there, kept in touch with so many!! For all you LeRoy Boys out there my dad loved and cared for all of you Leroy boys!! He would always say once a homeboy always a homeboy!!
I'm glad we got to talk to him and that we all got to tell Him that we loved him and we told him we would talk to him soon we would talk to him later today that later today NEVER happened!!!
He was the best dad a girl could ever ask for he was such a great man, such a sweet man, such a sweet spirit, he was loved by EVERYONE!!
