Ilona’s fundraiser

Hi everyone, thank you for taking the time to read about our cause. We’re currently hosting Ilona and her cat who fled from Odessa. She’s 32 and we plan for her to live with us here in Greve, Denmark until the war is over and it’s safe to go back or until she feels comfortable living alone and is able to learn the language and work. Being in Europe we feel especially close to the conflict and desperately wanted to help however we could. We were matched with Ilona and she arrived Saturday after 5 days of travel. She came with very little, and left everything she knows and everyone she loves behind with no idea of when she can see them again. Our hope is to help make her self sufficient and happy in Denmark but with a war comes trauma and unfortunately but not surprisingly she is suffering from a lot of ptsd. So until then we hope to raise funds to help cover her living expenses ( clothes, food, personal items and a bike) with us and save for her return home or a private living arrangement here when she’s ready.
