Love Four Luke’s Big Adventure Fund

Hi friends, family, and kind new faces —

We are the Medina-Benson family — Jallussee (Mom), Sam (Dad), and our four children: Landon (13), Esther (11), Joshua (9), and our youngest, Luke (3).

Last year, our sweet Luke was diagnosed with a large malignant brain tumor in his cerebellum — Medulloblastoma Type 3. According to St. Jude, Group 3 medulloblastomas have the worst prognosis of all subtypes. Our world shattered.

The tumor had already spread down his spine and wrapped around his spinal cord. Luke underwent life-saving surgery (16 hour surgery), but it left him unable to crawl, walk or run. We put our faith into treatment: 6 rounds of aggressive chemotherapy, 2 rounds of bridge chemotherapy, 6 weeks of radiation with 10 days of aggressive chemotherapy, and more rounds of intensive care...

Then, we were hit with another blow in August of 2024 — Luke was diagnosed with HLH (Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis), a rare, life-threatening blood disorder that further complicated his condition. He was intubated for 3 days and ended up in the PICU for over a month. Despite everything, Luke fought with unimaginable courage.

Through it all, we’ve held on to joy. We’ve created a “Bucket List” of experiences we hope to give Luke while we still can —

A Beach Vacation,

cuddles with Bluey, and priceless memories with his siblings and family!
