Hi, my name is Danna and this is our family’s beautiful angel, Fawn. Myself, my brother Rasheed, my sister Tasnim and my mom Sandra make up this incredible family with our Fawn.

Fawn is a silver Lab/Italian Greyhound mix, 11 years old, and truly the sweetest soul on the planet. She’s been part of our family for 10 years.

She loves treats, sunbathing, belly rubs, and will never hesitate to let you know when she wants attention; usually with a little paw tap or by rubbing her head against your leg.

She’s a quiet girl with a big personality. She doesn’t bark, has never bitten anyone, and is the absolute glue of our family.

On Saturday night at 7pm, Fawn had a grand mal seizure, followed by several more through Sunday afternoon. Since then, she became disoriented, confused, and no longer recognized us. She didn’t sleep for over 24 hours and was scared and trapped in her own little world.

We rushed her to the emergency hospital, where doctors warned us it could be anything from infection or organ failure to a possible brain tumor. They found dangerously high sodium levels, which could have been causing the seizures or signaling something more serious. Even after stabilizing her sodium, Fawn continued having facial focal seizures, leading doctors to believe there was something deeper happening. She was started on phenobarbital, but we were still searching for answers.

After an incredibly hard 48 hours, the doctors were unable to stop Fawn’s seizures. After her 13th seizure, she slipped into a coma and became oxygen dependent. We held onto hope for as long as we could and waited for Rasheed to join us from Austin, Texas. Once we were all together, we made the most heartbreaking decision of our lives… to let Fawn rest.

Fawn was loved by all. So deeply. Beyond words.

We have never felt luckier than we do to have been chosen to be her family for the past 10 years.

It breaks my heart to say goodbye. I still catch myself expecting her to wake up, to hear her little paws, to see her curled up in her bed. But we know she is at peace now, free from fear and confusion. We are so grateful we were given one last holiday season with her and that she was able to celebrate Tasnim’s 24th birthday and Rasheed’s 21st birthday with us this past weekend.

She was the most incredible pup, and words will never come close to capturing the magnitude of our love for her.

Our home feels unbearably empty without her, but we know she’s still with us, watching over us, keeping us company in ways we may not always see. What a gift it has been to be loved by you, Fawn. Thank you for everything

The funds raised will go directly toward covering Fawn’s emergency hospital care, medications, diagnostics, and end-of-life care. Her medical bills accumulated quickly as we did everything possible to stabilize her and give her a fighting chance. Any contribution, no matter the size, helps ease this burden and allows us to focus on grieving and honoring her beautiful life.
