Help the Wilkes Family after the Palisades Fire

My name is Devyn, and I’m starting this donation page for my in-laws, Carter’s parents, Evan and Jennifer Wilkes. During this difficult time that has stolen so much from many, the Wilkes family have found themselves facing an unimaginable loss. Evan and Jennifer Wilkes have lost their home where they raised their family, built their lives, and made countless memories over the course of 32 years. Their home in the Palisades, which was engulfed by the devastating wildfires, was much more than just walls and a roof. It was a testament to love, hard work, and generational legacy—a place where every room held pieces of their story.

The home was especially meaningful as Evan’s father, an architect, helped design the home with Evan and Jennifer—a personal gift that laid the foundation for the life the Wilkes family built together. Evan, with his background in construction, then helped construct the home with his own hands. It was a labor of love and craftsmanship; the result of decades of dreams and dedication.

Through the years, the house became more than just a structure—it became a sanctuary. It was where Carter and Katie took their first steps, where birthday parties and family gatherings took place, and where, through every trial and triumph, the Wilkes family found strength and joy. As they all reflect on the years spent in that space, they are overwhelmed with the weight of what was lost.

Yet, amidst this heartbreak, the Wilkes family also feels a deep sense of gratitude. While they have lost everything, they are thankful that they were able to escape the flames. They remain safe, and as they begin the difficult journey of starting over, they carry with them the resilience and strength that has always defined them. They know that while they may never be able to fully replace what they’ve lost, the memories they made in that home will always be with them.

We’ll miss making memories in that home, but I know Evan and Jennifer will carry the spirit of it with them wherever they go. And we will be here, alongside them, as they move forward, step by step, towards a new chapter.
