Hi! We are the VC Silver Circuits #16158, a FIRST Tech Challenge team from Virginia City, NV. Our team consists of 10 team members, 2 coaches, and 2 mentors. Our team won the Nevada State Championship Inspire Award last season and competed in the World Championship in Houston, Texas. Competing at this level motivated us to learn even more this season, and hopefully win a spot again this season with either the first-place Winning Alliance Robot Award or the coveted Inspire Award. The Inspire Award is awarded to the very best robotics team who has the best robot design, most innovative robot, best autonomous control, is connected with professionals in the STEM community, and motivated and inspired kids and families to know about the FIRST Robotics program. This is the most challenging award to win, requiring hours of dedication outside of the building and programming of a robot. This award includes documenting the team's progress through robot designs, community outreach, and connecting with the STEM community in an engineering notebook.
On Friday and Saturday, March 3-4, 2023, the VC Silver Circuits competed in the Nevada State FTC Robotics Championship hosted by Foothill High School in Las Vegas, NV with 30 other teams from all over the state. This team was not only able to be the Winning Alliance Captain, assuring them a spot at the World Championship, but they ALSO won the coveted Nevada State Inspire Award!!! These are the two top awards offered at the competition!!! The goal was set high early in the season and the team was able to blow everyone away and claim both awards as their own. In addition to these awards, there are other awards that they were recognized for:
Promote Award Runner Up
Innovate Award Runner Up
Think Award First Runner Up
And, our amazing mentor, Rogan, won the Runner-Up Compass Award
Now, this is where you come in - The team now has the hard work of figuring out funding for 10 team members and 4 coaches/mentors to travel to Houston, Texas April 17 - April 23rd, 2023. The expenses will include airfare, hotel, food, ground transportation, registration fees, robot parts, etc.… Any donations or sponsorship will be greatly appreciated by the team. Please consider donating to help fund the VC Silver Circuits to get to Worlds. Please spread the word to your employer, friends, and family about sponsorship opportunities.
We have opportunities for businesses to be recognized at the FIRST Worlds Event on our t-shirts, on our sponsor board, and we even have spots on our robot for top sponsor donations.
