****05/02/2026- It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share that Juniper passed away yesterday evening.
She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family and so much love.
There are no words to fully express the heartbreak her family is experiencing. During this incredibly difficult time, we ask that you please respect Caleb and Anna’s privacy and refrain from calling or messaging them as they grieve this unimaginable loss.
Thank you for the love, prayers, and support you have shown Juniper and her family throughout this journey. It has meant more than words can say.
****04/28/2026- We wanted to share an urgent update on Juniper.
Juniper was scheduled to have heart surgery on May 21st, but last night everything changed very quickly. She stopped breathing and was rushed by ambulance to EIRMC. Doctors performed CPR for about 40 minutes before her heart began beating on its own again. She was then intubated to help her breathe.
The team made the decision to transfer her to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City for a higher level of care. During the first attempt, the helicopter experienced mechanical issues and had to turn around, bringing her back to EIRMC for a few more hours. While there, doctors performed an EEG, which showed that Juniper is experiencing seizures.
A new flight team was able to safely transport her by plane to Primary Children’s, where she is now. At this time, we are waiting on further test results and answers.
This is an incredibly critical and uncertain time for Juniper. We are asking for continued prayers, love, and support as her doctors work to understand what is happening and determine the best path forward.
Thank you for standing with Juniper and her family—we will share more updates as we are able.
3/21/26- After thoroughly reviewing Juniper’s case, her doctors decided they are unable to safely perform surgery yet because of how compromised Junipers lungs are. Her cardiologist recommends waiting at least four weeks after her RSV recovery before moving forward with heart surgery. While it’s hard and frustrating to wait, we trust that this decision is being made with her best chance at a smooth surgery and recovery in mind—and that’s all we want for her.
At this point, her condition is serious but stable. Juniper was discharged and is now home, but she is still requiring a lot of support. She is on oxygen, has an NG feeding tube, and is on continuous oxygen monitoring. She is also being administered medication to help with the fluid build up in her lungs, that is caused by the holes in her heart, but made worse by the RSV.
Her doctors are following her very closely, and we are taking things one day at a time, watching carefully for any changes. It’s a delicate balancing act, and while this is the current plan, things could change in an instant, if her condition does.
Thank you all for your continued prayers, support, and love during this time—it means more to us than we can express.
***3/15/26- Update on my baby niece Juniper. Caleb and Anna just got a call from the hospital that they are life flighting her to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake today for open heart surgery. This has been not only a terrifying experience for Caleb and Anna, but a huge financial burden. I wanted to thank everyone who has donated, shared, reached out, and prayed for our family. I know that Caleb, Anna, and Juniper can make it through this with the help of all your love and prayers. So far we have raised $1000 that will help with all the medical bills coming their way, and with the loss of income they’re experiencing while being in the hospital with Juniper. Any little amount helps, even just $5 really does make a difference. If you haven’t already PLEASE share this gofundme with friends and family, social media, and if you already have, please share it again! I want Caleb and Anna to see how much love and support their friends, family and community have for them.***
Baby Juniper was born prematurely in October with several serious health conditions, suspected to be caused by CHARGE Syndrome. She spent the first weeks of her life fighting in the NICU before finally being able to go home just before Thanksgiving.
Now, at almost five months old, Juniper weighs just over 6 lbs due to the challenges caused by her condition. Despite everything she has already faced in her short life, she continues to fight every day.
Next week, Juniper is scheduled for five different specialist appointments in Salt Lake City to finally receive clearer diagnoses and determine the next steps for her care. But before they could even make that trip, Juniper was admitted back to the hospital at EIRMC, where she is now battling RSV.
Because of her fragile condition, Juniper cannot travel by car. She will be transported by ambulance to Primary Children’s Hospital so she can still receive the specialized care and attend the critical appointments she needs.
Her parents, Caleb and Anna McNett, work incredibly hard and both have full-time jobs. Anna works nights and then cares for their two children during the day while Caleb works. They have already missed significant time at work to attend appointments and be by Juniper’s side during her previous NICU stay. They are even in the process of trying to sell their home because the financial burden has been so great. Now, with her hospitalization, they will need to miss even more time so they can be there for their baby girl.
We are hoping to raise funds to help ease the financial burden this family is facing. Medical bills, travel, and missed work are quickly adding up. Any support will help Caleb and Anna focus on what matters most right now—being with Juniper as she fights and continues to grow stronger.
Thank you for supporting this sweet little girl and her family during such a difficult time.
