Help The Fossgreens Raise The Roof

Hello friends, my name is Nancy Irish and I am creating this fundraising event for Jane and Kent Fossgreen.

They have lived in their Rohnert Park, CA home for over 20 years. While they have had minor cracks in the walls and doors that stick, like many of their neighbors, this fall they have experienced a continuous and significant shift in their foundation. The house has serious damage resulting in a five inch difference from the center of their home to the back half of the structure. This damage includes major cracking in the walls and ceiling, bowing floor joists and a separation of the roof. No other home in the area has suffered such a shift.

Upon investigation into city and county records, Jane discovered that there is a six foot storm drain culvert running through her back yard, along the side of the house and into the cul-de-sac. It does not run under any of the other nearby homes. At this point it is uncertain how the culvert may have affected the foundation or where the responsibility lies, it is very clear that extensive, urgent and extremely expensive repairs are needed to rectify these issues. After countless hours conferring with contractors, engineers, foundation specialists and local government the Fossgreens need to act on the repairs now and follow up with the responsibility issues at a later time.

Jane and Kent have been mainstays in the Sonoma County music scene for over 40 years. The number of bands they have played in, both together and individually, are too numerous to list. I have had the privilege of being their band mate in Bohemian Highway for a decade. Local radio DJ’s call them the Fossgreen Dynasty because of the frequency of shows in which these hard working musicians are involved.

In addition to their live music careers they also have their individual businesses. Jane teaches music, piano and saxophone to local children. She has ignited a passion of love for music in several generations of kids. I can’t overstate how many love letters from her students I have seen in which they extoll how much she means to their journey in learning the joys of music. Kent has maintained his business, Backstage Service, in Cotati for several decades. He keeps the local musical talent’s gear up and running for their live performances. He has a loyal and steady clientele who depend on his excellent skills and honest service.
