I am Mom and Grandmother of 3 beautiful grandchildren. I have been on a very crazy cancer journey starting with a trip to the ER, many tests, blood work and doctor visits, and 4 subsequent procedures ending with a cancer diagnosis.
It began on May 31, 2025, when l was rushed to the ER by one of my co-workers, it ended up being an overnight hospital stay. My hemoglobin was a 6, normal level is 14. So I needed a blood transfusion - 2 pints of blood, a iron infusion and B12 injection. My diagnosis severe anemia, low red blood clot, a clotting disorder, a very large gall stone, diverticulosis, and a thickened endometrial wall.
After several appointments, and more tests, on July 7 the same day of my biopsy/ablation my little brother passed away, Jason Mulkins, Jason was a major loss for our family. As I was driving my test results came in and I saw I had a cancer diagnosis, Adenocarcinoma of the endometrium. A day or two later, I received the doctors phone call and she confirmed the results I had endometrial cancer and she recommended me to an oncologist. After my brother's funeral I broke the news to my parents.
I know this has been alot for my family and loved ones, we lost my brother and than this news. We really never had cancer in our family.
On August 17 2025 by recommendation of the oncologist, I had a full hysterectomy, my parents came to be by my side while I healed.
I recovered for several weeks and then had my follow up appointment with the Oncologist. The pathology results came back and the cancer had spread. They found a tumor in my uterus, it was also found in my cervix and sentinnel lymph node. So radiation was recommended.
I then went through the procedure of having my gallbladder removed on Sept 8. Out of caution that I would not suffer a gall bladder attack while I was healing and going through radiation treatment.
Radiation Therapy is scheduled October 1 through November 4. It will be 5 days a week for 5 weeks. Then I will have subsequent bracytherapy (internal radiation) treatments to make sure there is no additional cancer growth and it does not come back.
As I begin this intense and aggressive treatment, I am facing not only the emotional and physical toll of cancer but also an overwhelming financial burden.
I have been out of work for several weeks. And not sure how I will do with the radiation therapy, if I will be able to work and receive treatment.
My PTO has been used up and I do not have short term disability insurance. Also, I drive over 1 hour and 15 minutes (72 miles one way) to go to work. The cancer Institute is about 45 minutes from my job and approx. 2 hours from my house it is 95 miles one way.
How You Can Help
I am in need of financial support to cover:
Medical costs,
Mortgage and utilities
Groceries and living necessities
Car insurance, Gas, and vehicle maintenance for,
I was told I will be able to drive, and treatment will be exhausting. I was told about the side effects, fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting.
I am requesting help $$$ so I can focus on the most important fight -- to beat cancer — without the added stress of how to survive financially.
Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference.
If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends, family, or social media circles. Your support — whether financial, emotional, or spiritual — means the world. Also your prayers are great appreciated.
On behalf of my family and loved ones thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!
