Help support Craig's fight to walk again!

August 6, 2021, our dear friend Craig Zeiml suffered a severe spine and neck injury while in the ocean in California. He went for a swim and a wave took him to the bottom of the ocean breaking his neck. As a result, he was air lifted to UCLA Medical center and underwent 
emergency surgery to try and stabilize  his neck and spine. He had a second surgery a few days later, to complete the repair. As of right
now, Craig is paralyzed from the chest down. He has mobility of his arms and hands with limited fine motor movement in his fingers. He has made tremendous strides through this first week since his accident, but he has a long journey ahead!  
 
He is going to be medically transported back to Chicago. Craig will be going to the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, formerly known as the
Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. It is known to be the best in the country for rehabilitating spinal cord injuries.
 
Craig is such a strong person and has such a tremendous sense of joy and love for his friends and family, even as he goes through such
challenging circumstances. His will and determination is like no other! If you know Craig, you know he is a fighter and he will work hard
with all his tenacity to walk again! Craig is a devoted father, a loving husband, and a selfless and compassionate friend to many, always
willing to help and take care of others first. He has proudly attended every dance competition, and lacrosse game for his daughters,
always cheering not only for them, but everyone else’s kids on the team.
 
Life looks very different for Craig and his family now and also in the future. His journey ahead is going to be a long process, and his medical needs and expenses will be cumbersome. Let’s help take care of Craig right now, as he faces one of the biggest challenges of his life!  Let’s
help take away some of the burden he and his family are about to face.  Potential home modifications, accommodations, and transportation
needs to increase accessibility and quality of life will be needed initially. Dawn and his girls are so thankful he is alive, and filled with so
much gratitude. As a family, they are willing to do whatever it takes to get Craig the best medical attention possible. They are hoping with
extensive therapy, hard work, and prayers he will have a successful recovery and walk again. 
 
Many have reached out asking how they can lighten the load and the support has been overwhelmingly heartfelt and appreciated by his
entire family. This is why we are setting up official modalities for donations.
