Christopher has always been a source of energy, care, and devotion to those around him. As a friend of many years, I’ve seen firsthand how much he was admired by his co-workers, depended upon by his church, and truly a friend to everybody. Before his injury, Christopher was a 45-year-old emergency room nurse, active in his community and Church, and elected to serve on a national committee for liturgy and music. He was always ready to help others in their time of need and to serve for a more beautiful tomorrow.
Tragically, Christopher suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed from the armpits down with limited use of his hands. Christopher has faced his “new normal” by reading and writing and staying as active as he can remotely. Staying optimistic has been difficult with the added burden of a suppressed immune system, liver cancer and secondary organ damage. With the dramatic drop in income, Christopher lost his home and has spent all his savings on out-of-pocket medical bills. Christopher's living conditions are now completely inappropriate for his needs, leaving him isolated and unable to travel or even go outside. The impact of his health challenges has been devastating, but his current care situation has strained his optimistic reserves and stolen his joy.
We are raising funds to help Christopher with his mounting medical bills, daily living costs, caregiver expenses, and to improve his quality of life so he can regain some comfort, mobility, and dignity. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference in his life. If you’re able, please consider supporting Christopher as he faces these overwhelming challenges. Your kindness and generosity will help restore hope and stability to someone who has given so much to others.
