Help Restore Lunchbox

Our names are Peter and Vivian and we are the proud siblings of John Nguyen. As many people know, he owns and operates the Chicago Lunchbox food truck, which has been in business for the past ten years. A few years ago, he purchased his first storefront and was working tirelessly to build it out as a brick and mortar in the Edgewater/Rogers Park neighborhood. This past week, the day had finally come to have his final inspection and open doors. He was proud and excited to finally unveil what he had been working so hard for, while still running his existing business and raising three sons.

Unfortunately, the night before inspection, his restaurant accidentally caught on fire and was deemed as a total loss. He is devastated that his efforts and dreams were ripped away overnight, but he is trying to move forward and make plans to restore and rebuild as quickly as possible. The estimated time will be at least a year. He expressed that he has been uplifted by so much love and encouragement coming from all directions and it has helped him to remain positive and hopeful. People have been asking for a place to financially support him during this time, which is the purpose of this GoFundMe page. Although he says this is not expected and your words mean more than anything, it is deeply appreciated and will definitely support him in opening doors once again.
