In 2019, we rescued a black kitty that came to our back door with a broken glass jar around her neck. She wouldn't have survived another day. She had cuts on her neck from the jagged shards of glass and was covered with prickers. A nice man lent us a trap, and then took her to his vet to have the jar removed. When she had been treated, we adopted her and named her JarJar. She's the one who started it all.
Soon thereafter, the COVID pandemic exploded all over the world. People were advised to "take up a hobby". We knew there were more stray kitties that were living near our house, who would sometimes come looking for a handout. This Pandemic Pussycat Project became our hobby.
Since then, we have captured and either had fixed with our own funds or placed with friends a number of other kitties - Kit-ten, DouDou, T'purr (and her 2 kittens), Miss Buttons and her kitten, Mama (and her 4 kittens), and most recently, Binks, with the help of a very nice lady who said she would help us with transporting and trapping. Now we've trapped a sweet tuxie (see update), and are trying to trap a tan/brown striped tiger with a hurt paw. There are more cats in the community that we're hoping to have fixed, but we're tapped out financially! We plan to TNR the new kitties that we capture, but we need funds for the spay/neuter clinic, vet care, and supplies, and something to contribute to the very nice lady who is helping us with trapping, transporting, and holding the kitties until they can get an appointment for their treatment and/or fixing.
Any donation, big or small, will help us continue rescuing and caring for these cats. Please help!
