I am kholoud Abdelhakim Shaqalih, 35 years old, married to Eyad Sabra, he is an accountant.

I am a mother of three children, Khalil 11 years old, Abdelhakim 9 years old, and Mohammed 7 years old.

I am writing here with a broken heart. I am really sad and upset.

On October 7, we had to evacuate Gaza to the south thinking it could be a safe place. We left our home and belongings. We moved to Dair El Balah where we made a tent covered by unhygienic blankets. Everyday my children have to look for drinking water and fill barrels with water for the bathroom. All drinking water in Gaza is unclean. My children are always sick of unclean water and unhealthy food.

I am crying everyday when I see my boys collect the firewood for cooking because we have no Gas. It is not easy for children of this age to carry huge responsibility.

I can't imagine how our life turns upside down, my children were so talented in their school, they were highly qualified. Regrettably, their school was totally destroyed. They cried alot when they saw the pictures.

Before the war, I promised my children to buy a new house. They were happy to have their own room.

We really bought a new apartment in the Municipality park area. The house is newly built, it is on the 4th floor.

We planned and dreamed, we decorated the house to be comfortable for me and my family. We paid a lot of money to have a beautiful house. Unfortunately, the house, that we didn't live in for even one day, is destroyed.

My heart is really broken.

Also, before the war, my son Abdelhakim was suffering from acute pain in multiple joints in his legs. We had urgent surgery for him, and he has to continue the treatment after the surgery.

Due to the war, the lack of the necessary medicine, and the lack of capabilities in hospitals and laboratories, his treatment plan has stopped, and now he cannot sleep because of the constant pain that accompanies his small legs.

I can't see my son suffering and can't do anything.

I need your help to stand up with me to complete the treatment of my son Abdelhakim outside Gaza when the crossing opens, and to rebuild our house especially my children room.
