"A Cry from a Father in Gaza... A Dream of a Home and a Dignified Life Amid the Destruction"
Help Eyad and his children in Gaza
I am Eyad, 40 years old, a father of four children: the twins Mera and Mayar (3 years old), Islam (10 years old), and Rama (12 years old), and my wife Dina, 33 years old. We live in Gaza, where life has become an endless cycle of suffering and deprivation. The war has left us with nothing but pain and rubble. We live amidst destruction and hunger, deprived of the most basic rights to a decent life.
Here in Gaza, our dream of having a simple home to shelter me and my children is very difficult because of the war and siege, and I have no job that could help me build a safe haven for us.
Every time we try to rebuild our homes, another war comes to wipe everything away—destroying our dreams and forcing us to start over again and again. We live among the ruins, trying to rise, but the war is stronger than our dreams. It steals our sense of security, takes away our loved ones, and deprives our children of their innocent childhood. There is no clean place to shelter them, away from the scenes of blood and death that have become part of our daily reality.
I have lost many members of my family in the war, and the hardest loss was my brother, the apple of my eye, whom I loved deeply. His death left a deep wound in my heart and greatly affected my children, who are now suffering from severe psychological issues as a result of losing someone dear to them. His sudden departure has caused them to live in constant fear, and they feel insecure even in our arms.
My brother was not the only one I lost. I also lost many loved ones and friends, and many of my relatives' homes were completely destroyed, leaving them homeless, suffering from displacement and deprivation, just like us. Our entire lives have shattered before our eyes, and we even miss the simple moments that once brought us happiness and hope.
My children dream of a clean home, a safe room, and a peaceful life far from the sounds of explosions and the horrifying sights of bodies in the streets. They ask me, "Where will we live, Dad?" and I lower my head, unable to answer. The suffocating siege prevents me from providing even a day's worth of food, and the little aid we receive barely lasts for a few days.
Hunger haunts us, disease threatens us, and each day without a safe shelter, away from the destruction and the rubble of the demolished homes around us, and the smell of death filling the air, is another nightmare. There is no clean water, no electricity, no security, and no clear future. We try to survive with the little patience we have left, but my children need more... They need a normal life, a warm home to protect them, and a chance to live with dignity like any other child in this world.
My message to all kind-hearted people: Help me build a simple home to shelter me and my children, to give us a place to live away from destruction, fear, and hunger. I know that kindness still exists, and I believe there are people who feel our suffering and want to help ease our pain. Any support, no matter how small, means a new life for us, a chance for hope and stability for my children who deserve a better future.
Help us live with dignity... Help us dream again... Help us escape the rubble and death in Gaza.
