The picture of the desperate and homeless woman is not my friend, Betty but it is EXACTLY what I am desperately trying to prevent and hope that you will see it within your heart to help me do that.
My friend Betty has been and continues to go through extremely perilous and frightening times. What she has gone through and continues to go through is heartbreaking! One must imagine themselves in her position to understand what she is going through. I truly hope that if you can and find it in your heart to help with a kind donation and, very importantly, share and ask others to do so as well.
What Many years ago Betty was doing very well in the Northeast but her children had moved to the Mid-west and soon they needed her help so, loving them as much as she did, she moved to be with and help them, never knowing what how horribly things would turn out for her.
One thing led to another and after a few years her children broke off relationships and left Betty alone. Unfortunately what has happened to Betty is much more common these days: A study in 2020 by sociologist Karl Pillemar showed that 1 in 4 Americans are estranged from their families—roughly 67 million people. In fact, this has happened to me and some people that I know personally. To make things worse, the area she lives in has a very large presence of hunters, turkey, pig and cattle farmers and slaughter houses; because of that, all people there do not like her as she is a Vegan.
In fact, there were several threats to her because of that; one of which was when people started throwing rocks at her when they discovered she was a Vegan.
She stayed close to her children for years, desperately trying and hoping to re-unite with them but that didn't happen and, before she knew, it her savings ran out and was stuck there in the Mid-West, without friends or family, disabled, broke on Social Security fighting to avoid homelessness.
Then, to make things worse, her precious dog that she loved so dearly died, leaving her even more heartbroken and devastated.

In addition to all the terrible issues facing Betty, she is also facing potential threats to her life and retribution. And no… she is not or has never been a criminal. And… I have personally seen the proof of those threats in newspaper articles.
Because of this I cannot show pictures of her or her property, but rest assured, everything here is true and worse. have my Betty and her situation is fact. If you any doubt, please check my FB account and my posts and determine if you think I would falsify this. I have, wherever possible, included many pictures of her receipts to prove events that have happened.

MORE TO HER STORY

Betty is alone, with no friends or family close or willing to help. Her expenses are at least $375 to $500 (during summer when she has to pay for lawn mowing) more than her state and federal funding and that is getting worse as her Food Stamps (SNAP) and electric and rental assistance have been and keep getting reduced while her rent is increasing.
Her very meager Food Stamps (SNAP) runs out in less than two weeks leaving her without food and forcing her to get through the rest of the month on rice,beans, soup and if whatever may be left in her refrigerator. She even has to worry about having enough $ for toilet paper.
Even though she is constantly trying to save money by cutting back dramatically on electric use and suffering through the cold in winter and heat in summer. Regardless her electric bills are too much to keep up with and often receives shut off notices which can only lead to eviction if not paid.
The stress and depression is endless. Can you imagine being in this position? Although I personally had very difficult financial times in the past, NOTHING compares to this.
BETTY’S HEALTH issues.

If financial problems were not enough, Betty is faced with significant health issues:
● She has asthma, emphysema, a hole in her heart, extreme migraines, extreme pain from neuropathy in her feet and kidney stones.
● -CANCER TOO?
A few months ago, Betty had gone to ER because of bleeding and, after stopping the bleeding they ran tests, which indicated possible cancer.
● She suffers from hypothyroidism, has very painful neuropathic peripheral nerve damage on her feet (which has now also affected her right hand) and is extremely deficient in B12 and Vitamin D.
● She also has kidney stones which, at times flares up with extreme pain, primarily due to the fact that she doesn’t have the $ to buy and drink enough (her home water is very bad). Just recently she got strep-throat and then COVID. .-
BETTY IS STRANDED AT HOME!

● Her car has been disabled for some time and she does not have the $ to get it repaired. She is totally reliant now on car services which are often not available as needed to get to doctor appointments or to to buy food. Not only is she alone but now, also, stranded for the most part.
LACK OF SLEEP!

Constant hunger, her painful health issues, frequent vomiting (from stress of looming eviction and homelessness and other causes) prevents her from getting more than 3-4 hours of sleep (sometimes none) each night which only impacts her health even more.
MY GOALS!

● Minimally Keep her afloat each month ($375-500 approx / month)
● Move her away to a safe home with less expenses and where she does not have the cost of mowing. ($2,200 to $5,500 est)
● Get very urgently needed repairs to her car before it becomes useless, leaving Betty stranded. (Estimated $2,000 to $4,500).
Many GoFundMe campaigns get over $10,000 and some more than that in one week.
Surely, with my over 2,700 FB friends and all of everyone’s friends, even if just half gave $5 or $10 Betty would be close to be saved.

Betty is faced with unimaginable suffering, and I am simply amazed and stunned that she is still able to fight through and survive. Please: imagine you are Betty; fighting every day to survive, to endure her pains, lack of sleep, hunger, frequent vomiting and the feeling of hopelessness.
She is 71, alone in the Midwest, with no friends or family to help, facing many serious health and financial crises. Unlike most of us, she has just about forgotten what it feels like to simply go out to eat, to buy something for herself or have simply have fun. She is, instead, just trying to survive.
