Help me go on Shnat!!

Shalom! I'm Mika Adar, a determined Jewish girl from rural NSW, Australia. I am currently in my final year of high-school and am planning to go on a Habonim Dror Australia Shnat program in 2024. I’ll be paying individually for my participation and would love your help to make it happen!

I have always had an interest in youth power and throughout my upbringing, I have been actively involved in Jewish youth movements and actions which has ignited my passion to create social change in my community.

The Habonim Dror Australia Shnat program is a 10 month journey and mostly includes community volunteering in Israel. Coinciding this, there is an informal education program catered to teach us youth activism, history, ideology and social issues around the world, a few seminars with other young people and an important to Poland and a whole bunch more. Through these experiences, I aim to strengthen my bond with the youth movement, nurture my Jewish and Israeli identity, and come back to empower Australian youth to create the change they want to see. More specifically, I am to return and work closely with rural Jewish communities around the country.

I hope to receive your generous support which will enable me to take part in this life-changing gap year experience. While the cost of the program is not fully confirmed, it will range from $30,000 to $45,000 aud (excluding flights). While I am actively working, exploring scholarships and loans, your contribution will bring me closer to achieving this dream.

To express my gratitude, I will handcraft a unique jewelry piece, such as a necklace, ring, or earrings, for donations of $20 or more (in Australia). For contributions of $40 or more, I will send a complete jewelry set. And for those who donate $65 or more, I'll create a unique handmade crochet water bottle holder, perfect for staying hydrated on the go.
