Help me fund my political campaign

Hi, my name is Kaymarie Hughes and I live in the Scottish Borders. I am a UNISON branch secretary and a keen follower of politics.

I have spent my career working in social work and education welfare and this has caused me to question if things can be done better!

I have become increasingly frustrated at some of the decisions our politicians make, so have decided instead of just complaining, I'm going to have a go myself.

I joined the labour party after hearing Jeremy Corbyn speak at a UNISON conference. I felt that my strong views on welfare, the NHS and social justice were in line with what Labour stands for.

I want to be a strong voice at the heart of Scottish Labour that fights for ordinary working people, like me, living in the Scottish Borders.

I would describe myself as a 53 year old, I am part of the LGBT+ community, I have been a single parent to twin boys and I suffer from arthritis.

I plan to show my commitment to being a candidate for the people of Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire Constituency by walking approx. 12 miles between Hawick and Selkirk.

This will not be an easy undertaking but with your support, I know I can do this!
