Hi! My name is Rowen, I’m 15 years old and a proud member of the RAF Air Cadets.

I’ve been selected as 1 of just 22 cadets from over 200 applicants to take part in Exercise Mountain Storm 2025—a once-in-a-lifetime expedition to the Canadian Rockies. This August, we’ll spend 17 days in Canada, including a six-day wild camping trek through the mountains, walking over 60km and reaching altitudes of up to 2,800m. After the expedition, the trip will also include exciting activities like white-water rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing, and will finish with a formal “Dining In Night” hosted by a local Canadian Air Cadets squadron, all of which make this trip even more exciting!!

To help support my parents with the cost of the trip, I’m aiming to raise £500 of the total £2,100 needed. So far, I’ve been busking in my local town (which has been a lot of fun!) and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who’s donated already.

Cadets has truly been a life-enhancing experience for me. It’s helped me grow in confidence, build new skills, and meet some amazing people I’m now lucky to call friends, such as the people on this trip.
