Hi, my name is Jesse and I am raising money to escape Australia so I can buy a plane ticket to return to my home country with my 3 cats.
This is my story -
3 years ago I was a happily married man living with my wife and partner of 9 years. It was always our dream to live abroad and one day our dream came true and she was offered a Visa sponsorship to live and work in Australia. The job needed her to start as soon as possible so she hopped on a plane down under while I stayed behind with our 4 cats and 2 dogs, who were still awaiting approval to travel to Australia - it can be a very long process and it took another 14 months before they were approved for travel and the required quarantine. During those 14 months, one of our dogs got sick and died. It was very hard to deal with and I started to have a lot of depression, which can be very hard for someone like me with Autism and ADHD.
I used my entire life savings and then some to raise the roughly $50,000 it took to ship all of our animals to Australia and pay the required quarantine fees. I sold literally everything I have ever owned. The only belongings I have to this day are my few bits of clothes and a book.
Finally the day came, and we all arrived in our new home. Little did i know how much of a nightmare the next year would be. Despite all the sadness, I got a job, I was able to work with what is called a Partner Visa, meaning that my wife is the Visa holder, therefore as her spouse I can work as well. That did not last long, because when her Visa expired, after her 2 years, her job informed her that her contract was not being renewed. Without a Visa, neither of us can work.
We have both been out of work since January of 2025... stuck in a house together without money.
I am raising money now for one simple reason : to return home to the states with my 3 cats. All together, it will cost around $8000.
