Help little Stella with her future & education

Hello, My name is Greg Elston and I am the father of Alicia Elston and the grandfather of little Stella. Alicia died suddenly and unexpectedly on Dec. 29th...... she was only 40 years old and a single mother of 4 year old Stella.

 

Alicia struggled with bi-polar for many years and more recently schizophrenia. The nations healthcare system for the mentally ill, as many of you already know, is in less than adequate condition. She spent 7 nights in the hospital after neighbors saw in her driveway having a manic episode..... released for only a day....She actually called 911 on herself, the day before she passed away, because she knew "something was off". Taken to the hospital by ambulance only to be released an hour later....... I took her immediately to another facility that helps people with dependency issues as well as other mental disorders. We waited for several hours to speak with an administrator. Alicia talked with them and it was determined she needed their help....... Only thing..... no room at the inn. I asked her if she wanted me to stay with her or bring her to my home..... because she was in a very manic state and could not be left alone...... she called the facility as were driving back to her home to inquire again if there was space....she was begging for help........she died the next morning as I was giving her CPR.

 

Alicia was doing the best she could...... she could interview well for many types of jobs.....but could not manage to keep one for long. After many years of psychologists, medications, and struggles.... she is now gone.... Leaving little Stella behind...... Our family's will make sure Stella does not get lost in the system (which is a whole other broken story).....

 

We are just looking to provide for Stellas future and education...... she is a very smart and inquisitive 4 year old girl who laughs and loves to learn.  A BrightStart 529  account has been setup and all donations will be deposited into her account...
