Help Jen find safety and stability

This is my friend Jen and her daughter. In the past few years, these two wonderful people have been through so much. Medical emergencies, literal brain surgery with complications, and more.

It seemed like things were on the up. Jen thought she had met a wonderful person to start over with in a new state. They decided to make a trip cross country to move both of them to new jobs after a downsize at her previous job.

Before they left, things were difficult and Jen was worried, but nothing seemed so bad that she should be suspicious. But then they arrived at their destination and the truth came out.

Anyone can fall prey to a scammer, abuser, and con artist. Unfortunately that is what happened. A stolen credit card, using her money and ignoring the bills he said he was paying, and culminating with his dad attempting to physically assault Jen, her daughter, and their puppy Oreo and threatening to kill her. It's not a story for the faint of heart and for their safety I'm avoiding more specific details that might get back to the perpetrators, as the police are already involved.

Jen is now trying to find a way to land on her feet so she can start the job she has already been offered and make a life for her little family. She is safe, but they need help.

The abuser who tricked her used her to move cross country at the behest of his fiancee, who he claimed was an ex. His dad is attempting to claim damages to property after attempting to assault her with her child and dog in the car.

Jen discovered he claimed to be taking care of the bills with their combined funds, but he was spending that money elsewhere, and so she and her little family need our help. We've set the amount at 15k. This is to give her a buffer as she tries to get on her feet, but also as there is always the possibility that he has used her card or other identity information to do further harm to her financially. Jen just wants a chance to get settled, get her daughter, who has also just been through a series of traumatic events with this, help so she can heal, and get started on her work. In order to do that she now has to take care of debt racked up by this con artist and his father and fiancee. Every bit helps. As you're sharing, please do not tag Jen so that if the abuser is looking for information she can stay safe. If an unknown person contacts you to ask for information about her location etc, please do not provide it.
