Help Get Leila Rolling Again...
On Sunday February 21st, 2021 my vehicle was caught in crossfire of a random senseless shootout that occurred in my neighborhood in Norfolk, VA . My car sustained multiple gunshots and extensive glass damage. I filed an insurance claim and on Monday my vehicle was towed to a repair shop for an estimate. The final estimate has not been provided yet but I was advised that the damage appears to exceed the value of my vehicle and will ultimately result in a total loss.
As many of you know I have a 4 year old daughter named Leila. She has Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and is wheelchair bound. My vehicle although it couldn’t even fit her wheelchair because it was so small it was all I had to get her to her many appointments. I worked with what I had but now I’m forced to do better.
We have been in need of a wheelchair accessible van for quite some time but I just wasn’t in a position to afford one. I didn’t get approved for any of the assistance & grant programs I applied for yet due to COVID slowing up the application process. I’ve always been too proud to ask for help because I felt like that made me appear weak or made me less than. If you feel the need to judge that’s ok I just pray you never have to walk a single step in my shoes.
I can finally admit I NEED HELP! By the grace of God I was approved for financing for a van and to get my monthly payments in a price range I can afford monthly I am being asked to put down $3700. I currently do not work but I have $1000 of it already. And I am doing everything I can to put down as much as I can. Leila’s insurance will help get the van modified once it’s purchased.
Whatever you can give is appreciated. Whether it be a dollar or a prayer. I have only made it this far over all these years because of the love and support from all of you so thank you all so much ❤️ God Bless
