Help the Tiny Potato Bears
As you may know, every year for my birthday I do a supply drive for a local animal shelter. This year the pandemic has changed things for all of us, but I'd still like to make a difference if I can - with your help!
Instead of using an Amazon wishlist as I usually do, I'd like to raise money through this GoFundMe. 100% of the funds I collect will be used to purchase a gift card to Pet Food Warehouse, a WONDERFUL locally owned pet food store here in Vermont. The gift card will then be handed over to North Country Animal League to purchase food and other much needed supplies. Right now they are not only feeding their own animals but also supplying a no-questions-asked free pet food shelf for families in our community who are struggling to feed themselves and their pets during this 
difficult time. NCAL is also the shelter that Francie came from! We are forever grateful to them for taking care of our little girl before we got her, and also for taking FIV+ cats in general. Sadly, not all shelters do.
I'm doing it this way, by purchasing a gift card, for a few reasons:
1. The shelter will be able to buy what they need directly and not have to deal with disinfecting items from me.
2. You will know your money is going directly to tangible supplies and not administrative fees or anything else.
3. You will also be assured that your money has gone to a small, locally owned business - not amazon or a big chain like PetSmart.
I'm not expecting much, or anything at all, really. I know things are hard and scary for everyone and that every charity is desperate. But if you have anything at all to spare I would appreciate it more than I can say. You'd be helping homeless pets, families in need, and supporting a terrific small business. And as a minor bonus you'd make me so happy! But please, please, please don't feel bad if you can't give this year. I completely understand and there is no reason to feel bad AT ALL. ❤️
My birthday is June 27th. On that day I will buy the gift card (showing everyone the receipt with the exact amount) and pop it in the mail to the shelter. I would love to drive it down there and see the cats as we usually do but I really think this is best and safest for everyone!
