My name is Nicola, and I am fundraising for my beautiful sister, Faith.

Faith is a devoted single mum and one of the strongest people I know. She is living with kidney failure and urgently needs a lifesaving kidney transplant. Sadly, before she can even be placed on the transplant waiting list, she must first undergo two major surgeries — a hysterectomy and a thyroidectomy.

Faith has already spent three years waiting for a hysterectomy as a public patient, and six months waiting for a thyroidectomy. During this time, her health continues to decline. She lives with constant, debilitating pain caused by her gynaecological condition, while complications from her thyroid illness and medication often leave her unable to keep food down.

Despite everything she is facing, Faith continues to fight every single day. Three times a week, she attends dialysis appointments that keep her alive. She rarely complains and will always tell people she is okay, even when she is struggling deeply.

The heartbreaking reality is that while Faith waits for these surgeries, she cannot even join the kidney transplant waiting list she desperately needs. Time is not on her side.

Faith’s youngest daughter, Tilly, is only 16 years old and has never truly known her mum as a healthy person. She has grown up witnessing medical emergencies, hospital stays, surgeries, and the daily toll chronic illness has taken on her mother.

We are raising funds to help Faith access the urgent surgeries she needs so she can finally become eligible for a kidney transplant. Every donation, no matter the size, will help give Faith the chance to regain her health and give both her and Tilly hope for a future together.
