My name is Erin and 2022 was a terrible year for my parents. We need help covering caregiving costs. Over the summer my mom had a myriad of health issues including a heart attack, stroke, and sprained ankle. She spent the summer in and out of hospitals and rehab facilities. Until Medicare decided she would no longer recover and stopped paying for the rehab. We were left with no choice but to private pay caregivers. We got her home and she was improving after 6 weeks of caregivers. But then we could no longer afford it. She and my dad have been doing it on their own since early November. Dad has limited mobility and strength to help. Mom is unable to stand or walk unassisted. My brother and I both live 2+ hours away with young families of our own. They desperately need caregivers. A four hour shift seven days a week costs almost $1,000 per week. We are hoping that 2 more months of caregivers working one shift a day will give my dad a break and give mom enough umph to get over this hurdle.

With everything medical going on, they also found out the house needs a new roof.

If by some miracle we raise more than we need for the 2 months of caregiving, any additional will go towards more weeks of caregivers or toward a new roof.
