Help Combat Feral Cat & kitten Overpopulation in Lakewood-CA

Lakewood, CA “Operation adoptions”
Kitten Rescue, and TNR feral/stray cats
For the last three years, I have been rescuing and adopting out kittens, born of feral and stray cats that seem to have found their way to my backyard and around the neighborhood. Some are born elsewhere and dropped off. Others are the results of people not spaying and neutering their cats and allowing them to roam free in our neighborhoods and then there are some that have just been abandoned and become feral. We have a little bit of all three types.
The cost for this desperately needed and necessary intervention has become unsustainable for me as an individual and therefore I am asking for some help. you can also donate actual items through Amazon suggest cat food, cat litter, etc. through this link set up by team member Mellissa. https://www.amazon.com/registries/custom/owner-view?registryId=1JPJK5XXEJMAM
(these beautiful, three gingers and one solid black siblings are already ready to be adopted. You can send a message on this page if you are interested.)
Many of the kittens that I have rescued I have spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro, chipped, dewormed, and fully medicated all without being able to use vouchers or to have someone to come alongside me until this last year when my daughter and her friend began to assist me. They put the pictures of the kittens up online to help them get adopted as well as getting out the word to friends and helping to vet Applications of prospective forever home parents.
In all we have found forever homes for 16 kittens and been able to spay 4 mama cats. I wish I could say that this solved the problem …unfortunately it has not.
This year I am caring for 4 different mamas, strays and feral both, who have had a total of 20 kittens! Astounding right.
(this beautiful little calico and she is little, is called Sweet pea, and we believe that she has had in the last 3 years at least 6 litters with 3 litters surviving)
Without assistance, these Cats and their kittens will become feral and will become another part of the overpopulation, snowballing to the point where people like me will just throw up our hands and say : “what can we do.”
(just 4 of the kittens waiting to adopted- 2nd breakfast)
We need help right now ! I need help feeding them, purchasing litter, spaying or neutering as well as the cost of micro chipping, vaccinations, flea meds etc… eventually getting the kittens adopted. This plus trapping & fixing the mama cats as well as the stray feral males that have basically taken over the Lakewood CA neighborhood that I live in.
(this handsome little guy is from a litter of four - he has a twin and his sister is a tabby and she has a twin.)
Unfortunately, the city of Lakewood has no plan or TNR Voucher program in place to help reduce the overpopulation of feral and stray kittens & cats. It has basically been left to the people, like me who live here. It is more and more unsustainable as a goal for those of us who tirelessly work trying to place these kittens, fix the mamas, and rid our neighborhoods of the feral males.
Here is just one of the cuties we have this year & we really do need your help!
(this baby is one of six they were born in a lawnmower bag and when found were all sick and with infected eyes, they are all doing much better now.)
Thank you for taking the time to read our post and consider donating and if you cannot donate please just share with your friends and family.
