Help Our Friend, Bita, Get Critical Medical Care

Dear Friends and Family,

 

We are writing to garner support for our good friends, Bita Shoku and Mike Jepsen, who have been together for years and are lifelong partners.

 

As you may know, Bita emigrated to the US from Iran by herself as a young adult, put herself through school in the US and became a doctor via hard work and determination. She is a healthy and active person, a joy to be around and is someone who has committed her life to helping others as an ophthalmologist.

 

Unfortunately, Bita was recently diagnosed with Kidney Disease. Her right kidney has failed, and her left kidney, after a 6-hour surgery, is now only working at 50%.

 

If this wasn't bad enough, in an effort to identify the kidney issues, they discovered she has a malignant tumor in her breast. She is to undergo immediate surgery for breast cancer, all the while they still need to deal with and figure out what is causing her kidneys to fail.

 

Even with excellent medical insurance and the support of her medical community, Bita's medical bills are piling up fast. They have already exceeded $50,000.

 

Very simply, Bita and Mike need our help, and the best way we can help them is to ensure Bita gets the ongoing medical treatment she needs and deserves as she courageously battles for her life.

 

Our minimum goal for this effort is $75,000 though we believe, given how loved Mike and Bita are, that we can double that amount. So, for Mike and Bita, please join us in this very important and real-time effort to help our great friends.
