I’m reaching out today with tears in my eyes and hope in my heart, asking for your help to raise $25,000 to secure the legal representation I desperately need in my ongoing custody battle. I became a mother under challenging circumstances, and from the very beginning, I’ve carried the weight of responsibility as a single parent. My journey began when I was expecting my first child—a time filled with hope and dreams of a beautiful future. However, those dreams were marred by a painful reality. I was living with the person I trusted as a partner, my fiancé—the father of my children—who promised a life of shared love and support. Instead, I found myself isolated, financially controlled, and constantly struggling to provide even the basic necessities for my little ones. My first true test of strength came when I was left alone as a new mom to a baby girl born with a birth injury. I often found empty cupboards and an empty fridge because the person who was meant to share the burden of parenthood denied me access to money—even for essentials. For years, I put on a brave face, masking the truth behind forced smiles and quiet tears. I pretended that everything was fine, even as my heart broke in silence. On a cold Christmas Eve in 2022, I was told to leave the home I had believed was our family’s foundation. With nothing but my two toddlers and our loyal puppy, I stepped into an uncertain future. Forced to choose between the harsh reality of a homeless shelter and the uncertain comfort of family, we moved in with my mom and stepdad. For a brief moment, I felt relief—but it was short-lived. As I began to navigate the overwhelming responsibilities of single motherhood, I faced yet another devastating blow. My mom, my rock, was diagnosed with leukemia, leaving me with the impossible choice of protecting my family from potential harm or risking their health. As if life hadn’t already taken its toll, my children’s father—who had abandoned us emotionally and physically—decided to turn our lives upside down once more. In May 2023, I was served with a motion for full custody, a document that painted me as an unfit mother and falsely blamed me for my children’s medical issues. Every accusation stung, not only because they were untrue, but because they were designed to strip me of the one thing I cherish most—my children. This battle has been relentless. My ex’s legal maneuvers, including false police reports and emergency motions to keep our children far from me, have left me feeling powerless and heartbroken. I’ve watched as the precious smiles on my children’s faces slowly faded into expressions of confusion and sorrow. Our limited interactions—recorded calls, brief visits—are all I have left of a bond that once was full of love and trust. Every moment apart feels like a fragment of my soul being torn away. I am fighting not only for justice but for the well-being of my toddlers, both of whom have extra-special needs and rare medical conditions. They deserve a safe, nurturing environment—a place where their unique challenges are met with compassion and care. They deserve to have the love and care of their grandparents and family members who have been deemed dangerous and ordered to have no contact with my children after being their more than their dad for 4 years. Please, please, please help us make this better for them.
