Update:

Tuesday 1-6-26

We have the deposit and pro-rated rent.

The apt is ours on the 13th.

We need 3 more nights at the motel to make it until the then. $222 total with tax.

We have to cover one more night, Friday night, and we are short by $40. On Saturday I get SS and we can rent a place.

Monday- We have the room until Dec 25 at 11am. I have added receipts so people know it's for real.

Sunday- I just found out that the apt fell through because the tenant stayed another month. It will be available Jan 13th. I just can't believe that all of this is happening. A slumlord destroyed my life, and they are happily enjoying the holidays while we struggle day to day.

Friday - The apartment fell through, we thought this motel would be a week. Now it is 2 weeks tomorrow. I have contacted a lawyer, this is all due to extreme negligence on the part of the owner. I are struggling to keep this roof and desperately need help to make it until SS payday on the 3rd. We are hoping to at least stay in the room through Christmas, for obvious reasons. Everything helps, $5 donations add up. When this is over, I will pay it all forward!

After being forced to leave our apartment in the cold, the apartment that broke my shoulder and cost me my savings, we are currently in a cheap motel. I am saving for a deposit and need money meanwhile to stay indoors.

Sunday; I have enough for tonight. The prices change every day; I never knew that. Homelessness is scary and I don't know what to do if I don't get this place. I was supposed to meet with a man to look at a little studio apt. (400 sq ft) yesterday, but it fell through. I have messaged him again, as it is my only hope. If I can't find a place until the 1st, I have to raise money for this room.

I can pay rent with my SS, but the deposit and moving costs are beyond me. It is expensive in Denver, but I was born here and can't lose that too.

My story, which is more organized now that I am away from there and can think straight.

I got the keys to a cute apartment, the house maid quarters in a 133 yr old mansion on March 1, 2025. Within 2 hours I was at the bottom of the stairs with a broken shoulder and 3 ribs, I was by myself and in shock for 2 days before I got to the hospital. It has been a nightmare.

Long story short, the injury cost me everything I had saved and then I had to sell stuff inherited from my dad. They said they would fix it, then changed their minds. They forced me to live with damaged steps for 9 months, then they evicted me. They almost put me out in the snow, and they would have but the city wouldn't allow them to.

Meanwhile, I have been trying to get a new place, but without my deposit, (they are not returning it) it is nearly impossible. I have my SS and that's it. I am looking at this one place, just need a deposit. This will keep me off the streets literally.

So, I am asking for help from people who can afford it. In these days we all have something going on.
