Help support Jordan Montgomery’s transition
Donation protected
My name is Erika, and I’m a mother of two. One of them being my son Jordan. When my son Jordan was just 7 years old, he was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumor, Anaplastic Oligodendroglioma. He underwent brain surgery, 8 weeks of radiation, and 2 ½ years of chemotherapy. While the tumor was fully removed, doctors warned it could return within 5 to 10 years.
Although in that time span the cancer did not return, Jordan never truly got to experience life to the fullest. Since his original diagnosis, he has faced ongoing seizures, learning disabilities, and emotional and financial challenges that have deeply affected us both.
Now, 20 years later on April 17 we received the devastating news: Jordan has another brain tumor. This time, only 75% could be removed. He’s now in hospice care at just 27 years old. Although we are still awaiting full pathology results, I am preparing my heart for what lies ahead, while still praying and believing God has the final say.
I currently live in Illinois, where I’ve also been a caregiver for my father, who is fighting cancer. Working has not been easy in my circumstances and with Jordan’s health decline, I had to leave my job again to be with him in Texas. Due to his childhood diagnosis, Jordan was never able to qualify for life insurance.
I’m asking for your help to support:
• Jordan’s end-of-life and memorial expenses
• My travel, relocation, and basic needs while I remain by his side
• Time to grieve without overwhelming financial stress
If you’ve ever walked through cancer with someone you love, you know the pain, the uncertainty, and the strength it takes. Thank you for your prayers, love, and any support you can give during this time.
