Help a Homeless Mom and Her Boys

Hey everyone, my name is Krissy and me and my 3 sons are currently homeless and in serious need of some real help!

I never thought I’d be doing this, but as embarrassed and ashamed as I am, I’m even more desperate to figure something better out for my boys. So here we go...

Me and my sons were living with family up until we had to move out on March 8th because the house had to be sold due to not being able to afford the mortgage anymore. This decision was made pretty suddenly, so I didn’t have much notice to come up with any plan. I also lost my job right before Christmas, so the timing wasn’t the best either. But I started reaching out to programs and resources right away. Every single one. You name it, I called them or I went there. But it was a lot of “there’s no funding,” “there’s a long waitlist,” “try calling (a program I already contacted),” etc. It was extremely disheartening and frustrating. There just doesn’t seem to be any real help available right now.

Luckily, between money I had saved and some help from family and a church, we’ve been able to pay to stay in a motel for the last almost 6 weeks. But I’m now out of money and there’s no one else to ask for help. And most days, I’m honestly scared that I might not have somewhere for us to sleep that night. All of this has brought me here... swallowing my pride and praying that the kindness of strangers will get us through for a little bit.

The money is to cover motel expenses for about 2 months... just some time to provide stability so I can hopefully get back to working and start receiving some assistance somewhere... and a little for necessities I’ve been struggling to keep up with, like keeping gas in my car, or pull-ups when they’re needed. Things like that.
